Alfred Dunhill LTD Inks Exclusive Distribution Agreement
(Nashville) Better customer service is the goal of a newly announced partnership between Alfred Dunhill Ltd. and Music City Marketing in Nashville, Tennessee. On May 1, 2003, Music City Marketing became the exclusive distributor of Dunhill pipes, smoking accessories and lighters in the United States.
With its 42,000 square foot warehouse in Nashville, Music City has been distributing pipes, cigars, tobacco and other smoking products for almost 30 years. "The exclusive agreement with Dunhill is a very welcome addition to our existing distribution network," says JT Thompson, company President. "We have developed a close relationship with Dunhill during the past few years and are excited to help them reach even greater success in the U.S. Market."
Dunhill is widely known across the U.S. and around the world as a manufacturer of high quality pipes, accessories and leather goods. Its trademark "white spot" makes its pipes and other products instantly recognizable as one of the best in the world.
Music City Marketing will act as an agent to set up all new Dunhill accounts in this country. The Regional Alfred Dunhill Authorized Retailer (RADAR) program allows a retailer full access to all Dunhill products. The Limited Alfred Dunhill Authorized Retailer (LADAR) program includes all three product categories (accessories, lighters and pipes), but does not allow the retailer access to the complete line of products.
The focus of the partnership between Alfred Dunhill LTD and Music City Marketing is to have Dunhill products available in 100 retail locations across the United States. With the closing of all of the U.S. Dunhill stores except for the one in New York City, it's believed additional retailers will fill the void and make Dunhill products more accessible to consumers.
Music City Marketing is also the exclusive distributor for Stanwell, Butz-Choquin, Winslow, Charatan, Big Ben, Falcon, and Servi Meerschaum pipes and Petersen and Sorensen Tobacco.

Dunhill Takes a LARGE Step Back in Time
From the Archives of the Dunhill museum in London, a new release of a classic part of history...
A group of extraordinarily large, oversize pipes which have never been named or appeared in any Dunhill catalog.
One of the earliest examples of such an oversized pipe is a Shell finish, classically shaped bent billiard fitted with a Sterling Silver band engraved with the following inscription:
H. A. SAINTBURY.
FROM DENYS GRAYSON,
1200 PERFORMANCE OF
" SHERLOCK HOLMES."
ST. JAMES'S THEATRE
NOV. 11TH 1921.
The last known example of such a pipe was produced in 1939.
These pipes do not fit into any past or present standard sizing category and are larger than those created in the factory for customer special orders that were known as 'OD' (Own Design).
Some of the world's leading Dunhill collectors refer to this size of pipe as a 'Magnum'.
That word normally describes the size of a wine bottle equivalent to two standard bottles or a gun cartridge with a larger explosive charge than other cartridges of the same size.
This highly prized Dunhill oversized pipe is extremely rare, and according to the research over many years conducted by Richard Esserman, a specialist in this field, only 50 or so of these great pipes have surfaced in the collector community. Many of those are in fitted leather covered 'Ventage' cases, a patented Dunhill designed case with ventilation.
For the first time in nearly 65 years, Dunhill is proud to reintroduce, at this years R.T.D.A. show in Nashville, new production of a few of these oversized pipes for sale. Each pipe is individually presented in a leather covered 'Ventage' case. This represents a chance for the collector and pipe connoisseur to once again have the opportunity to own one of these great pipes.

From the Foundation of Time...
A collectible pipe with its origins almost 200 years before the birth of Christ.
The new limited edition "Thames Oak" pipe from Alfred Dunhill features pieces of wood from an actual timber from the first Roman port facilities built in London around 63 AD. The wood was found when an archaeological team from the Museum of London was excavating a site just north of the London Bridge. Amazingly the silt of the Thames River bed preserved the inner core of the oak timbers.
Using an extremely accurate method of carbon dating, the tree that made up the timber was officially certified to have gown from 186BC to 63AD.
The "Thames Oak" pipe features a titanium band with inserts of Roman Oak pieces. The handle of the tamper that fits together with the pipe is also crafted from that same ancient timber.
The pipe chosen for this worldwide limited edition of only 500 pieces is a classically shaped Shell Billiard, Group 4. The pipe band and the lid of the presentation box are engraved with an image of the course of the River Thames.
Each pipe comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity charting the life span of the Roman Oak.
The "Thames Oak" pipe is available only through Music City Marketing, Nashville, Tennessee. For more information, call 1-800-251-3016 or visit www.musiccitymarketing.com.
Big Ben Redesigns Pipe Collection for US Market
(Nashville, Tennessee) Always a number one seller of pipes in Europe, Gubbles & Sons of Holland is making some big changes in its Big Ben pipe line for the American market.
Music City Marketing of Nashville, Tennessee is the exclusive distributor of Big Ben pipes in the U.S. And now, for the first time ever, Gubbles is crafting its American pipe line with normal bore.
This comes after many conversations with officials at Music City Marketing, discussing the differences between pipe smokers' preferences here and abroad. JT Thompson, President of Music City Marketing says "The 9mm pipes do very well in Europe, but most Americans prefer pipes with a normal bore. We will still carry some Big Ben pipes with the 9mm filter, to serve the needs of our customers who prefer that style, but many of our new designs are normal bore."
And what new designs they are…from the "Saturn" with its classic rings, to the "Dromedary" with its distinctive single hump, some of these shapes and finishes have never been seen in the U.S. pipe market. The "Invention" series has a radical new design, along with the "Viking" with its real horn stem.
Honored as the only "Royal Dutch" purveyor of pipes by the Royal family of Holland, Gubbles & Sons has the distinction of having one of the most modernized and technologically advanced pipe workshops in the world.
